The CBEST Test Format

The CBEST Test consists of three parts: Math, Reading, and Writing.

Our CBEST Practice Tests will prepare you for all three parts of the exam.

There are 50 multiple choice questions on the Math Test.

Like the real Math Test, our Math Practice Tests cover:

• Measurement, Estimation, and Statistics
• Charts and Graphs
• Problem Solving

There are 50 multiple choice questions on the Reading Test.

Our Reading Practice Tests have the same types of questions included on the Reading Test:

• Critical Reading
• Reading for Context
• Research Skills

You have to write two essays for the Writing Test.

One is a Personal Essay and the other is an Expository Essay.

Our CBEST Essay Writing Guide shows you how to write essays to impress the examiners on the CBEST writing exam.

You will be allowed four hours to take the exam. In that time, you can work on any part of the test in any order.

The test is offered both as a paper-based test and as a computer-based test.
